United Keetoowah Band seeks new ambassadors

Apply now to be the next Jr. Miss and Miss Keetoowah for 2025-2027.

TAHLEQUAH, Okla- With the 75th Annual Keetoowah Celebration coming up, this year the tribe will be seeking two new ambassadors to represent as Jr. Miss and Miss Keetoowah for the years 2025-2027.
As current Jr. Miss Grayci Spradlin and Miss Keetoowah Delia Smith stated, “This is a great experience and an opportunity to meet new people.”
The pageant will be hosted the week before the UKB Celebration as the official crowing ceremony will take place along with the Chief’s Address the day of the celebration. This pageant is hosted every two years. Young ladies who are exclusive UKB members that are between the ages of 13-17 may run for Jr. Miss Keetoowah, while UKB ladies ages 18-24 are eligible for Miss Keetoowah.
Other qualifications include:
· Must be an exclusive UKB member
· Must submit documentation showing age and tribal membership
· Must be single with no children
· Must be currently enrolled in school. Students out of high school must show proof of attending an education institution of higher learning. Applicants must submit school schedule and be continually enrolled throughout reign, if chosen.
· Mandatory leadership session: September 20, 2025, at 10a.m. (Photo Day).
· Must have a 2.5 GPA
· Must have good standing within home community (3-character references).
The pageant includes a variety of activities including presenting a platform and a talent showcase. Once chosen, each young lady serves as a goodwill ambassador for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians to promote the culture, traditions and heritage of the Keetoowah people.
Those interested in competing will need a tear dress or trade style dress (wrap skirt, leggings, trade shirt, finger woven belt) and pucker toe moccasins.
The deadline to submit pageant application is September 1, 2025.
The pageant date is September 27, 2025, at The Venue in Tahlequah.
